So as to feasibly boost teachers’ comprehensive quality and effectively promote the teaching quality, on the afternoon of 22nd November, at the lecture theater in the west campus, teacher Yang Chun from Anqing Foreign Language School’s Junior High Department in the west campus showcased a conventional demonstration lesson. All English teachers from both the east and the west campuses were in attendance and proceeded heated discussions with regard to this open class during the subsequent teaching& researching activities.
The teaching content was abstracted from Go For It Section B(2a-2d) in Unit 6 ‘When was it invented?’. Considering it’s a reading class, Yang Chun created lively& interesting scenes and designed a great many original& vivid student activities by means of various teaching methods, which not only successfully aroused students’ studying interest by well-arranged exercises, but also consolidated the teaching efficiency.
Furthermore, in the lesson evaluation session, group discussions were conducted in three separate grades. The attending teachers spoke highly of this public class and probed into its gains& losses in the meantime. They all agreed that Yang Chun ’s teaching procedures and the design of students’ learning cases were well worth learning.
To conclude, Director Zhang Li with the Teaching& Discipline Section carried through guidance and summarized this event, which laid a more solid foundation for the better development of Anqing Foreign Language School’s English teaching& researching activities and the promotion of English teaching levels in both campuses of Anqing Foreign Language School.
